Using Attendee Checkpoints to Verify Audience Engagement

Updated over a week ago

Attendee Checkpoints are a powerful tool designed to ensure your audience is actively watching your presentation—not just logged in. This feature displays customizable pop-up windows during a webinar to confirm viewer engagement at specific intervals.

To add and configure the Attendee Checkpoints, you must first enable the feature through the General Settings:

  1. Open Interface Builder.

  2. In General Settings, check the box labeled Enable Checkpoints.

  3. Click Customize Attendee Checkpoints to open the configuration window.

This window has three tabs:

1. Pop-Up Window

Customize and preview the pop-up attendees will see.
You can adjust:

  • The display title

  • User action text

  • Button labels

This lets you control how the checkpoint appears to your audience.

2. Settings

  • Set how long the checkpoint displays

  • Choose how it's dismissed (e.g., auto-close vs. manual)

  • Adjust pause behavior to require interaction from viewers

3. Availability

  • Live webinars only

  • On-demand sessions as well

Checkpoints & Continuing Education - (Optional)

Attendee Checkpoints can be used with or without the Continuing Education component. However, you should be aware that

  • A new criteria option will appear in the CE configuration:
    Require Number of Attendee Checkpoints.

  • You can set the required number of checkpoints that must be completed for a successful CE credit.

  • The Continuing Education Participants report will include a new column titled Completed Checkpoints

Reporting

You can access Attendee Checkpoint data via the Export All Reports window.

Upon generating the reports, two separate CSV reports will be created.
Each report will contain different satitiscs from the webinar:

  • AttendeeCheckpointsSummary.csv

Includes profile data and checkpoint performance summaries:

    • Total checkpoints created

    • Completed checkpoints

    • Missed checkpoints

    • AttendeeCheckpoints.csv

Provides granular data for each checkpoint:

    • Attendee information

    • Time the checkpoint was created

    • Time it was completed

Additionally, the standard Continuing Education report will also now display an additional column for Completed Checkpoints, denoting how many were successfully completed by the audience member:

Attendee Checkpoints help ensure real-time audience engagement with full customization and comprehensive reporting, this feature gives you confidence in your attendees' attentiveness.
