My Reports Are Showing With Corrupted/Broken Characters
My Reports Are Showing With Corrupted/Broken Characters
Updated over a week ago

Data from the webinar.net reporting center is exported in a plain data format, which may not support all special characters. However, importing your report into a new Excel sheet can restore and support the special characters.

On Windows:

  1. Start a new blank Excel document and navigate to the Data tab.

  2. From the data tab, you may select From Text/CSV, which will open a new window and ask you to import data from a CSV.

After selecting the exported CSV from the platform, you will be greeted with a preview of your data and some advanced settings.

You should ensure that when importing, your advanced setting for the Unicode is set to (UTF-8) as seen in the image below:

On Mac OS:

  1. On the File menu, click Import.

  2. In the Import dialog box, click the option for the type of file that you want to import, and then click Import.

  3. When importing, be sure to check your advanced settings for the Unicode & make sure it's set to (UTF-8) as seen in the image below:

After importing your data, you should see the complete and correct listing with non-broken characters.
