Create a Webinar: Presentation from Media File Only + Slides
Updated over 6 months ago

A presentation can be created from a pre-recorded MP4 media file as your webinar source with synchronized slides. Depending on your webinar license, we suggest a file no larger than 5GB. The recommended video format is 8mbps at 720p.

Select the Media File option under the Presentation Source dropdown menu when creating or copying a webinar.

A webinar created using a pre-recorded video and slides can only be scheduled as Pre-Recorded Live or On-Demand.

If you do not see this option, please get in touch with support at support@webinar.net.

Upload Media Files

After configuring and scheduling the webinar, you will be redirected to the Media Files tab. This is where you can upload your pre-recorded videos for your presentation.

To ensure maximum reliability, we recommend optimizing your MP4 file. This is to ensure that attendees with a bad connection can still download the stream and watch the video. Check this out: How to compress various video files and reduce video file size?

Supported video formats: .mp4, .mov, .wmv, .avi, or .flv.

IMPORTANT: All media files must contain an audio track!

A warning message will appear and the upload will fail when the file does not contain an audio track:

Link Slides to Set Up the Timeline

  • Navigate to the Content tab in the left-hand menu to upload your slides.

  • Once the slides have been uploaded, you can link the slides by:

    • Returning to the Media Files tab, click Edit to the right of the corresponding video, and the Advanced Editing will automatically open.

    • Access the Advanced Editing page, then click the Edit button to the right of the corresponding video.

  • Click on the Link slides to set up the timeline hyperlink, and the Link Slides window will appear. Click the Link button to the right of the corresponding slide deck for your Media File upload.

  • After selecting the slide deck to be linked, the Setup Timeline window will appear. Enter the times of each slide in the provided box, and then click the Save button to store the changes.

  • Push the modifications by hitting the Publish button.

  • The media files and slides can be rearranged by clicking the drag-handler icon () beside the specific media and then dragging and dropping.

Once the formatted video file and slides have been uploaded and linked successfully, we recommend you set up your Audience Interface.

You can use the 16:9 guide to size the Media Player and Presentation window within Arrange.

When the Pre-Recorded Live webinar starts, a visual countdown at the upper right-hand corner of the Present Console indicates how much time the presenters have left before the end of the webinar.
