Adjusting Video Playback Speed in the Media Player

Updated yesterday

To provide a flexible viewing experience, our media player allows attendees to adjust the playback speed when watching an On-Demand webinar. This is a great way to save time or slow down complex sections for better comprehension.

How to Adjust Playback Speed

Follow these simple steps to change the speed of your session:

  • Open the On-Demand Webinar: Launch the webinar audience link provided in your registration confirmation email.

  • Locate the Media Player: Once the On-Demand session begins, look at the control bar at the bottom of the Media Player window.

  • Click the Gauge Icon: Look for the button.

  • Select Your Preferred Speed: A menu will appear with the following options:

    • 0.5x: For a slower pace.

    • 1x: The standard playback speed.

    • 1.25x, 1.5x, or 2x: To watch the session at a faster pace.

The audio and video will remain synchronized regardless of the speed you select.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this available for Live/Simu-Live webinars?
No. To ensure all participants are viewing the presentation in real-time and can interact with live features like Q&A and Polls, playback speed adjustments are only available for On-Demand sessions.

  • Will the system remember my speed setting?
If you refresh your browser or close the window, the player will default back to 1x when you return.

  • Why is the playback speed option missing from my On-Demand webinar?
If the Continuing Education component is added to a webinar console, the playback speed adjustment feature is automatically disabled. This ensures that the platform accurately tracks the required viewing time for credit eligibility.
