Using the Conference Call Integration in Your Webinars

Updated over a week ago

The Conference Call Integration allows your attendees to join a webinar using a phone call instead of web audio. This guide will walk you through enabling and configuring the feature, customizing the attendee experience, and managing available options.

Adding the Conference Call Feature

Once enabled for your account, you can add the Conference Call component from the Interface Builder. Reach out to support@webinar.net to enable the feature.

Adding and Customizing the Conference Call Component

After placing the component onto your console, you'll have access to a range of configuration and customization options. These fall into four main categories:

1. Dial Options

You can offer attendees two ways to join by phone:

  • Phone Number – Display a dial-in phone number.

  • External URL – Redirect attendees to an external URL for calling information.

You also have the option to require a Conference ID and PIN for added security:

2. Dial My Phone (Call-Out Feature)

The "Dial My Phone" option allows attendees to enter their number and receive a call that connects them to the webinar. This feature is disabled by default and must be configured using an Online Booking ID from your dial-out provider.

Note: Your conference provider will provide you with the Online Booking ID.

3. Private Conference Call Access

Enable this option to create a unique, private URL that attendees must use to join via conference call. This helps ensure secure access for select participants.

  • When enabled, the private URL appears directly within the configuration panel and the "Webinar Links" menu.

  • If disabled, the private access tab is hidden from the "Webinar Links" modal.

4. Screen Customization

You can fully customize the attendee experience for the following screens:

  • Holding Screen

  • Join by Conference Call

  • Dial My Phone

  • Switch to Conference Call

  • Switch to Webcast

For the "Dial My Phone" and "Join by Conference Call" screens, you can also edit presentation instructions separately or choose to apply the same instructions to both.

Use the Preview option to see how each customized screen will appear to your attendees.

Additional Component Options

When the Conference Call component is present:

  • Other components (except Media Player and Header) gain access to an "Available Only in Conference Call Mode" toggle.

  • This allows for conditional visibility of supporting components based on how the attendee is connected via Webcast or Conference Call mode.

For example, you can configure an HTML or Image component to show only during conference call mode, and use that space effectively.

Remember to also set those components to Show on Launch if needed!
