Can I upload something other than a PowerPoint?
Can I upload something other than a PowerPoint?
Updated over 10 months ago

It's important to remember that webinar.net requires a Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT or PPTX) file format.

We do not display your PowerPoint (PPT or PPTX) in its valid PowerPoint format for your audience members. Instead, we will convert your slide deck to our proprietary format optimized for web streaming. It's how we can simultaneously send out all your slides to hundreds of viewers!

If you are provided with a presentation file that's something other than PPT or PPTX - You should return it to the slide author and ask them to export the slide deck another way:

Google Slides (a.k.a. Presentations)

  • Log in to your Google Drive account.

  • Select 'Presentations' to view available presentations in your account.

  • Double-click on the presentation file you want to convert to PowerPoint.

  • Go to the menu at the top, then click on File > Download As > Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx).

  • Depending on your browser, you can access your newly converted PowerPoint file immediately.

Keynote (Mac)

  • Open the presentation and select File > Export To.

  • Choose PowerPoint from the list of export options.

  • Click Next and enter a name for the presentation.

  • To choose where to save the presentation, click the Where pop-up menu, choose a location, then

  • Click Export.

PDF

  • Open a file in Acrobat.

  • Click on the Export PDF tool in the right pane.

  • Choose Microsoft PowerPoint as your export format.

  • Click Export.

  • Name the PowerPoint file and save it in the desired location.

Prez

  • From Edit Mode, select the Share icon from the top menu. Then, select Download as a PDF.

  • When ready, you will be prompted to save your Prezi as a PDF file (.pdf).

  • After selecting Save PDF, you will be prompted to name the PDF and choose where to save it.

  • On both Windows and Mac, the default folder is Downloads.

  • Once created, refer to the instructions above for converting the PDF to PowerPoint.

Frequently Asked Question

  • I don't have time to return to the slide author. What can I do?

In an emergency, you may "flatten the deck" by rendering the presentation slides into images, which you can then use to create your PPT or PPTX.

The best way to do this is by obtaining a PDF export of the entire slide presentation. You may then export images to your favorite PDF application (like Adobe Acrobat).

You can also attempt to use this automated PDF in the PPTX tool.
